Absolutely. We have equipped the zippers with so-called Silicone Dipped Cord Ends. These siliconized ends offer maximum grip and an improved feel. This means you can open and close the concealed, water-repellent zipper pocket even with MX gloves or in wet conditions without slipping.

The secret behind this is called ChemCycling®. Normally, used tires are difficult to recycle in the conventional way and would often simply be incinerated. However, as part of BASF's ChemCycling™ project, a special process (known as pyrolysis) is now being used to chemically break down the old tire into its basic liquid components using intense heat. The result is a valuable new raw material: pyrolysis oil. This oil then flows into the production chain at the very beginning and replaces fossil raw materials. The material obtained in this way is then spun into new, extremely durable polyamide yarn, which is used to sew your clothes. In this way, the used tires are given a useful second life in your clothes, while at the same time valuable fossil resources are demonstrably saved.

The softshell jacket uses the high-performance polyamide Ultramid® Ccycled®, which is obtained using the innovative ChemCycling® process. In this process, waste that is difficult to recycle, such as used tires, is chemically converted into a new raw material (pyrolysis oil). This replaces fossil raw materials at the very beginning of the production chain and is allocated to the end product using a certified mass balance approach. The result: a material that is chemically and technically exactly the same as conventional polyamide. The jacket therefore guarantees uncompromising tear resistance and mechanical resilience for off-road use. At the same time, it demonstrably reduces the CO2 footprint and prevents old tires that are difficult to recycle from being disposed of in landfills or incinerated.

Independent controls ensure absolute transparency and credibility: The entire raw material allocation process is audited by external auditors. The Ccycled® material is certified in accordance with the strict international REDcert2 and ISCC PLUS certification systems. The polyamide in this jacket also bears the Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) label to guarantee reliable traceability within the textile value chain.

The jacket was developed as a versatile cross-layer for outdoor activities. Designed for the demands of the MX track and enduro, its high abrasion resistance and 4-way stretch make it ideal for technical mountain sports. These include mountaineering, hiking, trail running and climbing. This jacket is in its element wherever you are moving intensively and need protection from mechanical stress and wind at the same time.

The softshell jacket has a concealed side zipper pocket specially designed to securely store valuables such as smartphones or keys. The design protects the zipper from direct contact with dirt and splashing water.
