Seamless Balaclava

Q-CYCLE® is an innovative polyamide 6.6 yarn whose required raw material is obtained 100% from chemically recycled old tires. As part of BASF's ChemCycling™ project, old tires that would normally be incinerated are converted into oil through pyrolysis. This pyrolysis oil completely replaces the usual fossil raw materials such as crude oil at the beginning of the value chain. A certified process, the so-called mass balance approach, ensures and is verified by independent auditors that the amount of recycled material corresponds exactly to the amount allocated to the finished products.

Although Q-CYCLE® is made from recycled old tires, the material has exactly the same properties and premium strength as conventional polyamide. It offers outstanding resistance, durability and lightness. The yarn has official properties especially for use in functional clothing - such as the DNA balaclava. These include Fast moisture wicking for a cool, dry skin feel, integrated freshness and anti-odor protection as well as excellent stretchability and resilience.
